flash differences for 3850 switches

ring_gt

We have 2 3850 switches in stack, and the flash memory as per the datasheet should be 2GB. HOwever, when running the show version in stack, not only do the flash memory of the 2 switches not reach 2GB, the overall memory capacity slightly differ as well. Is there an explanation for this? Thanks.

Hello,

as far as I recall, flash size will shrink a bit after formatting. Which IOS version are you running ? Try the exec command 'software clean' to delete residual files, and then post the output of 'show flash'...

Hello

Looks likely that the flash(s) have differing multiple residual files -  I agree with Georg a clean up looks a possibility - However have read of this first prior to any removal of files. - Here
