I have just began this venture of flexible network and I must say it has some limitations for sure.
Can you not use FNF on vlan interfaces? It would appear not unless I am missing something here.
CORE-01(config-flow-monitor)#int gi1/0/4
CORE-01(config-if)#ip flow monitor NetflowMonitor1 input
CORE-01(config-if)#int vlan 1
CORE-01(config-if)#ip flow monitor NetflowMonitor1 input
% Flow Monitor: Flow Monitor 'NetflowMonitor1' flexible netflow not supported on vlan interfaces
CORE-01(config-if)#
I mean if this is the case it really does me no good on a switch with multiple vlan interfaces with traffic passing back and forth between vlans on the same device.
Anyone have other methods that they are using?

It appears that it is not supported on SVIs.
from the config guide:
Layer 2, VLAN, WLAN and Layer 3 interfaces are supported, but the switch does not support SVI and tunnels.

So frustrating, but It looks like this is the workaround:

I agree that it is very frustrating. Cisco has many platforms with so many different IOS versions and hard to know what works with what. The discussion you posted is about 3850 series, but you may want to try it.
Good Luck!
