Hello! As part of troubleshooting a seperate issue, somebody on my 891 router had set logging trap debugging which shows as a line in sh run just above the access-lists. There is no syslog server however so I'd like to remove this entry, however when I do no logging trap debugging I end up with a no logging trap entry replacing the previous logging trap debugging entry. Is there away to be rid of this entry? I tried no no logging trap but of course that's an invalid command.
Thank you!

Hi Colin,
Type in "logging trap" and then do a show run.
Thanks!

Hi,
Will you please try to configure "logging trap informational". This is the default and as such should not be displayed in config file.
Best regards,
Antonin

Hi Colin,
I tried your configuration and first changed the logging with " logging trap debugging"and then tried to delete and it was deleted successfully from the IOS and also u wont recieve any traps but the command "no logging trap"is still running in IOS.
I also rebooted the rouer by saving it first but didn't create any impact...command still running out there.
May below post help to u..
The default trap level is informational.
And when u will do a show logging, it will show a line like ..
Trap logging: level informational, 20 message lines logged <<<<<<<<<<<<
I enabled the command "logging trap debugging..
Router#sh run | i logg
logging trap debugging ><<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
Router#conf t
Router(config)#no logging trap <<<
Router(config)#exit
Router#sh run | i logg
no logging trap <<<<<<<<<<<<
Router#conf t
Router(config)#logging trap informational <
Router(config)#exit
Router#sh run | i logg <<<<<<<<<<<
Router#
So, my suggestion is to use logging trap informational cmd under global mode..to get back into the default.
Hope this would be helpful to u..
Thanks
Amit

Hi,
Could you try 'no logging' command?

Doesn't work. Just entering no logging by itself is seen as an incomplete command. Yet no logging trap ends up putting that exact line in running-config, kind of weird.

It so happens that either logging trap or logging trap informational work. Thankfully the cisco forum system allows me to set serveral answers as the Correct ones.
Thank you all!
