One option you could choose is to roll out the new Cataylast 9000 Series switches using the following:
Access - C9300-24U-E (though you may need the -A version depending on what functionality you needed from IP-Base)
Distribution - Two options (discussed further below) 1. C9500-40X-E (the -A version is required if you want to do HSRP, however) 2. C9500-24Q-E (same note applies).
Using the 40X version of the C9500 would allow you to implement 10-Gig uplinks for your access switches and can provide 40-Gig uplinks from the Distribution Switches to the Core. However, switching to the 24Q version of the C9500 would allow you to extend 40-Gig uplinks all the way down to your access switches. Depending on which way you go, you'll need to include the following modules for the Access Switches and optics:
1. 10-Gig Option (using C9500-40X): Expansion module for the C9300's would be C9300-NM-8X and you would need QTY 4 of SFP-10G-LR per access switch (2 for the C9300 and 2 for the C9500). 40-Gig Uplink Module for the C9500-40X is C9500-NM-2Q and you'd need the QSFP-40G-LR4 optics (QTY 8 total) to utilize 40-Gig to your Cores.
2. 40-Gig Option (using C9500-24Q): Expansion module for the C9300's would be C9300-NM-2Q and you would need QTY 4 of QSFP-40G-LR4 per access switch (same as above). The C9500-24Q has enough 40-Gig ports to provide uplinks to the Cores and you'd still need QTY 8 of the QSFP's for that.
Relatively the same thing could be accomplished using 3850's for access and 6840-X, 4500X, or even 3850's for your distro switches.
