Dear Friends,
We have a 6509 VSS running 12.2(33)SXI4. We got high mem usage alert from CS-MARS for that (indicating memory utilization is more than 90%). Looking at sh memory, i see that we have enough free mem (more than 60% available). However, looking at the output of show platform hardware capacity cpu, we see that utlilization has gone realy high. Please find below the captures of show memory and show platform hardware capacity cpu.
sh memory
System Memory: 1048576K total, 393469K used, 655107K free, 1000K kernel reserved

Hello Gautam,
Since I have no clue of what's configured on your machine, I cannot give you a straight answer of what is causing high load. There can be more than on cause for this. Instead I can suggest to read this:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps708/products_tech_note09186a00804916e0.shtml
There a clear list of what you should check in case of high load.
Good luck and let us know if you found something!
Cheers,
Calin
