Hello,
We have Four 2960S Switches in Stack. We have created Multiple VLANs. While Pinging from Member PC to Member VLAN IP on Switch, we are getting Higher TTL response & Some ping breaks for One Particular VLAN...
While pinging from Member PC to Member PC, we are getting Normal Ping Response.
Is there any Problem in Switch??
Thanks
Sandeep

Hello,
No problem - ping between 2 PCs is going in HW on a switch. Ping from or to VLAN on switch requires it to be handled by CPU on a switch. CPU treats ICMP as low priority process thus you can see daly with these types of pungs. That is normal.

Hello Nikolay,
Thanks for the response. But, We are getting thses delays all time for One particular VLAN. lets say VLAN 4.
We are not getting this for any other VLAN ID.
Thanks

Hi,
That would mean that this VLAN getting some other traffic which needs to be handled by CPU causing ICMP traffic to wait for it's trun longer than for other VLANs.
you can check the utilization of SVIs

HI,
If SVI CPU Utilization is higher, what we can do?
Thanks

You will either need to do nothing if the load of VLAN is expected - ot analyze what traffic is hitting the VLAN.
