The outside sicker is gone and I need to find the Serial number of the router...it is a 7200 series router. What command will give me this info.
Thanks,
Mike

The command show inventory should display that. You should be running 12.3(4)T or later code to issue this command.

Mike posted this question also on the WAN Routing and Switching forum where I have posted an answer. I have tried the show inventory command on 7200 routers that were running 12.3(14)T and while it does return results that look good, the results that it returns do not match the value on the sticker on the chassis. I get correct information with show inventory with ISR routers but I have not gotten the correct answer the several times that I have tried it on 7200 routers.

I agree with rick.
I have seen the inventory command supported on the 2621 routers when you load IOS version 12.3(14) or higher.
But it doesn't reflect the chassis serial number. It actually reflects the processor board number.
It might be a similar case with the 7200 series too.

Thank you to everyone for your responces. I have tried every show command possible and entered every number that fit the serial number format and nothing. I ended up finding it in some of my old paperwork because I happened to write it down when I was working a problem.
Thanks,
Mike
