How do I set an interface on a Switch to default in Cisco packet Tracer.

I tried the #default interface <Interface Name> command, it does not work.

Tried placing "no" keyword before the command, but it is quite hectic process if we have a long list of commands.

Please suggest.

Hi @nabeelkhan8086  i think above command will not work in packet tracer due to limitation. if you need to reset the interface to its default setting than you can you use below step.

Double click the switch to open switch config and go to interface and select the interface you want to reset. Select the auto on the right side or select the setting as per your requirement.

Thanks

Hi @nabeelkhan8086

I have done tests and the PT supports the command in the global configuration mode.

Router(config)#default interface <interface>

Switch(config)#default interface <interface>

In the case of the switches, the configuration mode is not removed, since the switch ports must be in some configuration mode.

Regards
