Hi,
I'm about to order 2901 with EHWIC-D-8ESG-P but the product overview seems to be inconsistent in this regard.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps10536/data_sheet_c78-612808.html it says 1 in one table and 2 in the other table.
I would like to have a verified answer to this.
Thanks,
Hamed

Hi Hamed,
What I undrestand is that it can support upto 16 Port non-POE means( 1- 8 Port nonPOE + 2 four port non Poe= 16 non poe ports).
2901 router dc.

Hi Hamed,
Its clearly documented that EHWIC-D-8ESG-P supports only 1.
This module is the 8 port hence it is only 1 support on 2901 router.
See the section:
Eight-port PoE / >>>>>>>>>>>>> for 2901 is 1.
Eight-port non-PoE
2-If you have 4 ports EHWIC card then you can have qty 2 on this device.
HOpe this clarifies your query.

Hi Inayath,
Right in table 6, under Eight-port PoE/non-PoE it is stated
Maximum number of PoE ports --> 16 and that is the inconsistency I'm talking about.
If it only supports one eight-port or 2 four-port how can it support maximum of 16 ports???
Thanks,
Hamed

This document clearly says that 2 EHWIC-D-8ESG are supported on the 2901.

I wish the documentation wouldn't contradict itself. It causes problems dealing with clients when you sell them one thing (because you read it in a document) then have to turn around sell them something more expensive because the documentation was wrong.
