HOW MANY VLANS in RSTP

Can we add more than 128 VLANS to RSTP ? Can we all  4k vlans in RSTP instance

You have more than 128 vlan instances? If you do, than MST maybe a better solution then RSTP.

What is reason for that ? I read that MST take more cpu.

MST would likely consume more CPU than one instance of rapid-STP, but if you have more than a few VLANs, each running their own rapid-STP instance, and considering you probably only need a few MST regions, MST would then use less, possibly much less, CPU.

this is mean 255 vlans can handle is RSTP in all cisco switches. I don't find those details in C6500 series, 2960X and latest C9000series switches. Can I have details on that ?
