How to access a MSFC ona 6500 switch

Hi all, I have the following MSFC on a 6500 switch:

  6  MSFC3 Daughterboard         WS-SUP720

I'm trying to access this module, but the command available to me is session slot <slot#> procesor <proc#>.

On the show module command, there is no such information about processor. I tried by using any value for processor, but no luck.

May I'm missing some checking before?

PS: I have tried the session 15 command and other commands in this forum and around the Internet.

Kind regards,

Vitor

Hi Vitor,

As much as i know msfc and pfc are part of SUP and can;t be accessible individually.

You can access sup as a whole by "attach " command.

Hope this helps

Hi Vitor,

'Session 15' command to log into the MSFC is supported only in hybrid setup where Switch Processor runs CatOS and Route Processor runs IOS.

As you are running SUP720/MSFC3, I believe you are using native setup (unified IOS image both for SP and RP). In this case by default you are in RP (MSFC3) console.

To log into the SP (Switch Processor) console on the supervisor, use the command "remote login switch". To come back to RP (MSFC3) console, use exit.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!
