how to change password of an Cisco WS-C3550-48 switch.

I have the enable password. I need to change the password for security reasons. I can find only  procedures for a complete reset of lost password.

Look for a line like:

enable secret ...

If the line is present, then go:

enable secret <new password>

Test it.  And then if it is working fine, save the config.

If you have the current username and password, you can simply login and change the password.

example:

config t

username test privilege 15 password 7 test12345
