How to change STP and RSTP in a switch

Spanning Tree protocol and Rapid Spanning Tree protocol, how do we check which one is running in my switch now, and if I need to change from STP to RSTP, how can I do that, please?

What switch are you using ?

On the 3560, for example, you choose the mode using 'spanning-tree mode {mst | pvst | rapid-pvst}' and then verify the version being used using the command 'show spanning-tree summary'.

The command to configure it on the 2950 is 'spanning-tree mode {mst | pvst | rapid-pvst}'. And 'show spanning-tree summary' will show you the configured mode.
