It take a long time to detect issue here and share something with you
all your three previous posts and NON optimal solution I dont agree with it
there is something make your STP dont detect Loop in network until I hope figure out the issue here
the SW use BPDU of STP to detect any loop, this BPDU use by control plane of SW, the stp need to send receive
until now everything is OK
but the yellow arrow represent the BPDU path, there is gap in room server this gap come from virtual SW (which I assume you use VM ) dont pass BPDU.
the red circle is the data broadcast path which is Looping, this looping must not happened if STP work correctly
this make SW learn same mac from two point.
solution is in room server running active standby link not make both link active

hope this clear issue here

"hope this clear issue here"

@MHM Cisco World, alas, unfortunately, after rereading your reply a half dozen times, it's unclear to me.  Especially unclear is what's the "NON optimal solution".

My understanding of your reply might be summarized as:

  • Brief summary of how STP works
  • If BPDUs not forwarded fully within a L2 loop, STP will not work correctly
  • Prior/earlier postings, on this issue, have incorrectly marked solutions
  • You believe a VM switch, in server room, is not forwarding BPDUs

If my summary is correct, an issue I see with the last bullet point is the shown topology doesn't show a L2 loop in the server room, except for the ring that connects the switches outside the server room.  I.e. don't see how those room switches matter.

Personally, what caught my attention on the earlier posts was the number of switches in the ring, exceeding typical "diameter" and that a rapid STP variant was not being used.  For such a topology I earlier suggested REP.  On this posting I provided informational links in response to this OP how to configure REP.

My two questions to you are:

  • Do you have a specific recommendation how to fix STP?
  • Do you see an issue using REP?

To @kamleshkatariya1994, do you have any updates on this issue?

Hi

he ask here many times he have issue with ring topolgy he use STP (check his previous posts) and answer was mess (with respect) because none know what issue exactly, and he end try remove all STP and use REP.
control plane use BPDU to detect loop, but if VM vSwitch is not forward BPDU between two link connect to network the STP assume that it connect to host not to switch, so it make port connect to server room FWD
now the data plane all ports are FWD
when one client send broadcast which must stop in BLK port but since all ports is FWD then the broadcast is looping that explain he see mac from two different port in same SW.
the port connect to server room look like disable STP and this sure loop in ring

"he ask here many times he have issue with ring topolgy he use STP . . ."

Agreed.

". . . he end try remove all STP and use REP."

I've missed that.  Could you provide a link to where he describes actually trying REP?

I'm responding on my phone, and diagram is small.  Which switch is the VM switch?

server Room I think he use VM and VM have vSwitch
if you see the server room connect to network with two link and if he wrong or not config teaming of this two link he end in form L2 loop.

this post indicate that he will remove all stp and use REP

I am so careful in two topic
1- admin device

2- any STP topic

that why you see me many time I write warning about be careful

hope he see this nice discussion

hope so
