How to connect client machine to the network?

Hi all,

As we know, the traditional network architecture was formed as a triangle which consists of Access, Aggregation and Core. As I know, the access layer is for server connection. Then how does the client (end user machine) connect to access the server? Do they connect to the same Access Layer as the server? If so, is there any diagram that could show me more clearly?

thank you!

I think it further, the client should be connected to a switch connecting with the Access Switch. Let's say the access port speed = 10Gbps, then client switch port maybe 1Gbps. So, a single Access Switch port (10Gbps) could connect 10 client machines. Is that mean one of the port on the client switch should be at least 10Gbps to connect to the Access Switch?

Please correct me, thank you!
