How to connect Nexus 2000 with MPO breakout cable

Hi all,

I have a question regarding the cabling-possibilities for connecting a Nexus 2000 to a parent-Nexus 6000.

My uplinks of the Nexus 2000 are 40-Gig-connections. I now want to use a MPO breakout cable to "split" this to 4x 10-Gig-connections.

I than would have one 40-Gig-connection on the N2k-site connected to 4x-10-Gig on the parent-N6k-site.

I do not need to have more than 40-Gig-Uplink-bandwidth, because the N2k is just used for management-purposes. So, it would be more than enough to have one-time-40-Gig.

Splitting this connection to 4x10-Gig is to have redundancy available. If I connect those 4x10-Gig to one linecard in the parent-N6k it is working.

Now my question:

Is it possible to connect 2x10-Gig (of that 4x10-Gig MPO breakout) to one linecard on the parent-N6k AND connect the other 2x10-Gig on ANOTHER linecard of the same parent-N6K? Is it furthermore possible to connect 2x10-Gig on ONE parent-N6k and the other 2x10-Gig on ANOTHER parent-N6k (vPC-connected N6k-pair)? Or is it only possible to connect those 4x10-Gig connection to only one linecard on one parent-N6k?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Best regards,

Sebastian
