You can get a 40Gb to 4 x 10Gb cable, and then you can plug into ordinary 10Gbe ports.

You can get 40Gbe ports on the 6880.  I *think* there is a 3850 model now with 40Gbe ports - but if you are serious about aggregated 40Gbe links I would be going straight for a 6880.

Thanks a lot for your reply but the problem is that 40Gb to 4 x 10Gb cable is not compatible with 3850 with the 40GBE

there is no 40G ports on 6880

If you use the 40GB to 4 x 10Gb cable on your Nexus switch you can then plug the 10Gb ends into your Cisco 3850.  You just need to get the 10Gbe module for the 3850.

This is cable isnot compatible with 3850 series

What about if you use the C3850-NM-2-40G module?

Search for 3850.

It also looks to me like the Nexus 40Gbe to 4 x 10Gbe passive cables are supported (as you can plug the 10Gbe ends into the 3850 10Gbe ports) - but I'll defer to your knowledge.

what is the difference between QSFP-H40G-CU1M= and QSFP-4SFP10G-CU1M=

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/interfaces_modules/transceiver_modules/installation/note/OL_24862.html

QSFP-H40G-CU1M

Cisco 40GBASE-CR4 QSFP+ passive direct-attach copper transceiver module assembly, 1 meter

Sounds like a 40GB to 40Gbe cable.

QSFP-4SFP10G-CU1M

Cisco 40GBASE-CR4 QSFP+ to 4 10GBASE-CU SFP+ passive direct-attach copper transceiver assembly, 1 meter

Sounds  like a 40Gbe to 4 x 10Gbe cable.

Special Thanks
