How to find the product description with a valid serial number?

hello

i have a list of serial numbers for switches and routers. how can i get a valid product number e.g. WS-C2960X-24PS-L for this number?

The product was not sold by us and i do not have an valid support contract for that devices.

Any idee for me?

you can also use show inventory command.

I'm sure you have obtained the needed information, but you can also go to

Tools & Resources -> Device checker -> and enter the serial number and it will give you the product number and if its covered.
