How to ping my cisco 3400 series switch from tftp server

Could any one tell me, how to ping cisco 3400 series switch from tftp server. i am not getting right ip configuration for 3400 switch. please help me..

Hello!

You have to create interface vlan on your switch, and give this vlan on one of his port like switchport access vlan X, after that you can ping directrly switch from tftp server

I need one more help from your side. I am not able to copy ios from switch to tftp server instead i can copy running-config and other file but not ios file. Error shown is as below:

%error reading flash:xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.bin (is a directory)
