Hi,
We have in production a stack consist of 2 x 3750 switches - ie a 48 ports and 24 ports with same IOS & version.
The 1st 48 port switch is the master with port 1 uplink to a router and 2nd switch is a 24-port slave .
if we remove the master switch ( power it off first and remove it) then the 2nd switch will become Master.
Do I need then manually config a port in the 2nd switch to be a port uplink to the Router ?
otherwise I will lose the network connectivity
Is there a better way ?
Any advices are much appreciated.
Thanks
Peter

Peter,
Would you mind posting a diagram of your topology including addressing and routing protocol in use? With certainty, your 24-port stack member will need to be configured with an uplink port to the router but the way of configuring that depends on your topology. You obviously cannot have two ports on the router configured in the same IP network.
Best regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,
Thank you for your help.
With the xmas office closure I configured a same port on the slave stack and quickly move the uplink port from the master to slave and turn off the master and it seem to work - no one complain or maybe most users are away.
Merry Chrismas and a Happy New year to you and your family.
Thanks
Peter
