Hi ,
Can anyone tell me how to upgrade Cisco 6509 Supervisor WS-X6K-SUP2-2GE to VS-S720-10G-3C .
Existing Hardware detail is
NAME: "Chassis", DESCR: "Cisco Systems WS-C6509 9 slot switch" PID: WS-C6509 , VID: , SN: X.X.X.X.X.X.X

Hi James,
In this case you would have to upgrade the fan trays and the power supplies or it might be just easier to purchase a new 6509-E chassis.

Hi,
Is your chassis 6509 or 6509-E
All versions of Supervisor Engine 720-10GE require that a high-speed fan tray (either a fan tray 2 or Catalyst 6500-E series fan tray) be installed in the chassis.
Note Low-speed fan trays do not provide sufficient cooling for Supervisor Engine 720-10GE.
