HSRP backup link

I have a question,my test topology is like this.

then,i have test what i want.

i shutdown port-channel, both with two physical cable. and hsrp state was down, because there no broadcast domain to transfer hello packet

And then,I was thinking, Is there a feature can let hsrp hello packet run in another link? such as link direct-connect between two router.

Hi,

If you replace your routers with Layer 3 switches it would be possible. Then I would recommend instead of square connection using triangle. Because each interface of router is on different broadcast domain. That's way they need to be on separate subnets.
