Scenario: Our ISP has two Cisco 2811 routers onsite that provide redundant links to the Internet. One link is 40MB and the other is 20MB. We currently have a Free BSD router that connects via a hub to the two Cisco 2811. Our ISP is running HSRP and the priority is placed on the 40MB link. We have purchased two Cisco 6506E switches to replace the single Free BSD router.
Question: I would like to know if the design I attached will work? I plan on keeping the HSRP going to the ISP and add HSRP coming into our network. As we have a block of 6 IP's, there is one available for the VIP on our side of the network. If I trunk the 6506 switches together and place the interfaces connected to the ISP routers on the same VLAN, will I be able to set up HSRP without problems? The idea is to have no more single points of failure as we did before.
Thanks in advance
