Hi,
If active router fails, what is the time taken by standby router to come up (assuming default timers)?

Hi Siva,
It should be arund 10 seconds. HSRP default hello time 3 sec and hold time is 10 seconds. Once it misses 3 hellos i.e 9 seconds and hold-dwon timeer elapses it changes the other router as active. So after 10 seconds the other router will transtion itself to active state.

The interval in seconds between hello messages (called the hello time) is 3 secs by default.
The duration in seconds that a router waits before it declares the active router to be down (called the hold time) is 10 secs by default.
So, standby router will become active router once hold down timer expire i.e after 10 secs after which network will re-converge.
