HSRP Track on a Virtual-Access Interface

We currently have an 831 and 1800 series router each connected to a different ISP using ADSL. The two routers belong to the same HSRP group and only one acts as the internet gateway while the other one is on standby. We would like to Track the Virtual-Access interface on the primary router in the event the connection to the ISP fails causing the secondary router to become the gateway to the internet. Currently we have setup tracking on the dialer interface, but when the connection to the ISP fails the dialer interface remains up while the virtual-access goes down. We need to manually shut-down the dialer interface in order for the failover to occur.

How about setting up a IP SLA that pings the next hop address of this connection every 60 seconds and if it fails, decrement the HSRP priority group.

I was able to solve our issue by tracking the IP Routing state on the Dialer interface.

When you track the IP routing state, for the object to be up, IP routing must be enabled and active on the interface, the interface line protocol state must be up, and the interface IP address must be known. All three of these conditions must met; otherwise, the IP routing state is down.
