I have 2 6509E chassis with redundant sup720-3b in each. I am going to dual home my servers and I want to have hsrp between the 6509 for failover in case of a chassis failure. I am looking to use the sup-720 sfp ports for this failover, is this the correct way?
I cannot find any good documentation on this. I cannot use VSS because of the sup engines. Any help would be greatly appreicated

Using the SFP ports should not be an issue.

Thanks for the update..... is there any documentation on thie HSRP set up. I have multiple vlans and from what I was reading it was like you have HSRP for each vlan. Obviously i have vtp set up so each 6509 has all the same vlan information. These are basically my core distribution switches. All my servers will be connecting to both 6509's.
Thanks in advance
