I am getting the following error messages:

May 29 15:31:42.404 utc: %SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION: Gi1/1: Rx power high warning; Operating value:  -2.0 dBm, Threshold value:  -3.0 dBm.

May 29 15:41:42.974 utc: %SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION: Gi1/1: Rx power high warning; Operating value:  -2.0 dBm, Threshold value:  -3.0 dBm.

 

What is the solution?

There was a threshold violation as specified in the message.

Recommended Action: Contact your technical support representative.

There has been a threshold violation as specified in the message.

Recommended Action: Make sure that the port is active. If port does not need to be active, then transceiver ought to be removed. If port should be active, but is not, then make sure that the connection is appropriate. Sometimes, removing and reinserting transceiver might help. For all other issues, please contact technical support.

3. %SFF8472-5-THRESHOLD_VIOLATION: [char]: [char]; Operating value: [char], Threshold value: [char].

The specified port is not connected, or it is connected to a damaged fiber optic cable.

Recommended Action: If the message relates to an enabled but unconnected DOM transceiver, shut the port to stop the alarm messages. If the alarm persists, or relates to an enabled and connected transceiver, contact your Cisco technical support representative.
