Hi,
I was wondering if I am able to add a redundant power supply to an asr 1001 router that is in production without losing connectivity or causing any diruption to the Users - is it hotswappable?
Thank you, Pat.

Hi Pat,
Yes, the power supplies are indeed hot swappable. Check out the quote from the following link :
"All system components are hot-swappable. They are designed to be removed and replaced while the
system is operating without presenting an electrical hazard or damage to the system."
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/routers/asr1000/install/guide/asr1routers/asr1higV8.pdf
Hope that helps,

yes you can do it.
The online insertion and removal (OIR) feature supported on the Catalyst 6500 series switches allows you to remove and replace modules while the system is online.
