IE-1000-8P2S-LM - power unit selection

Hello,

I need to use IE-1000-8P2S-LM switch in my installation.
I'm sure that I need only 2 PoE ports, remaining ports - only LAN ports.
I need AC/DC power unit. Manual says, that 4 power unit supports PoE - 65W, 170W, 240W, 480W.
My question is. If I use PWR-IE65W, to my IE-1000 switch, is should be everything OK?
Is the choice of power supply is only based on current consumption?
If I connect to much PoE device, I exceed current range of the power unit, over current protection will work.

For me, there is no point to use a 170W power supply, for powering two PoE devices.

Is my deductions are correct?

Best Regards,

Michael

 - Concerning these questions you may also want to have a look at the datasheet(s) :

Thanks for reply.

OK, all clear.
I need PoE ports (never mind how many ports) - I need more power than 72W - I use minimum PSU 170W.
I need no PoE ports, for series (4 or 8)P2S - I need 48V - I use minimum PSU 65W.

Regards.
