Re: IE-3300 NOT BOOTING

Hi

I have ie-3300 new, and when I connect him to power supply and connect to him through console it like I'm in rommon mode but not rommon.

This is the only commands I have:

boot boot image
cat display file content
copy copy a file
delete delete a file or directory
dir show filesystems or a directory of a filesystem
format format a filesystem

md5 compute md5 of a file
mkdir create a directory

and this is the when I resetting the switch:

When i connect USB to the SWITCH (4gb usb) he doesn't recognize him and when i try to connect to any port and load boot from tftp, the port wont come up and i dont see any link or something even the network card keep said the the cable is unconnected

Hi

Get into the switch> prompt

run the command "dir flash" or dir bootflash or any other driver available. Use ? to figure this out

When you see the IOS file name, use the command

boot flash:<ios_fine_name>

This should be anough to get the switch back.

IF the switch is in ROMMON, post the complete output to the ROMMON command of "set".

So someone has erased the firmware from the bootflash.

One of the ways to put the firmware back in is to put the BIN file into a USB flash drive and use the below ROMMON command:

emergency-install usbflash0:filename.bin

Not all USB thumb drives will work universally.

I have three different varieties of USB thumb drives on my desk. Each one will NOT work in a specific Cisco product.

Ok,

I tried another 4GB usb, the same problem occur.

i tried to do it from tftp, but when i connect the pc to the switch port, nothing happened and even in the cli no port come up...

maybe this switch is broken?

The IE3300 has an SD Flash port. Is there an SD Flash?
