Interface config to add latency

Hello,

I need to simulate a high latency connection.  Is there a way in IOS or NX-OS through an interface config or otherwise to inject latency into a path?  For example, add 100ms of latency to any packets that hit traverse interface gi0/0?

I know there are latency injectors on the market as separate hardware tools, but I'm wondering if there's any way to do this in the switch.

Thanks

Not that I'm aware of. However, if you can run the interface at a slower bandwidth, that will add transmission latency. (Consider the impact of dropping from 10g to 10Mbps).

BTW, there are also, I believe, some software tools, for PCs, that can create "line impairments". I.e. you may not need to invest in a hardware product.

Thanks.  Yep, I've used clumsy as a client solution to inject latency from a particular workstation.  just wondering if there's any esoteric interface config that i've never come across before that can accomplish this, or perhaps some fancy QoS config to simulate latency.

Again, re: a Cisco interface command to create latency, not that I'm aware of. The only other way I could see increasing latency on a port would be to direct some other traffic at it to "clog" it up.
