Hi All,
i made the mistake of typing "sh" on the port channel (used to do "sh" as a short command for SHOW on HP but this is actually SHUTDOWN on Cisco.)
so after I did the "no shut" to bring the port-channel back up, it would not come back.
BTW, this 3750 is LACP'ed to an HP Procurve on port g1/0/11 and g1/0/12 (cisco) to port 47-48 (HP).
HP has "trunk 47-48 trk1 LACP
and 2 VLAN's tagged to TRK1
Cisco Has:
interface Port-channel2
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 666
switchport trunk allowed vlan 30,38
switchport mode trunk
interface GigabitEthernet1/0/11
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 666
switchport trunk allowed vlan 30,38
switchport mode trunk
channel-group 2 mode active
!
interface GigabitEthernet1/0/12
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport trunk native vlan 666
switchport trunk allowed vlan 30,38
switchport mode trunk
channel-group 2 mode active
for 3 hrs I tried multiple things like removing config, re-add it, only setup 1 port, removing the others and just setting as 1 uplink. nothing seemed to get the truck up.
HP interface lights where fliquering and stats show traffic being sent to on the trunk but nothing received. Doing no shut on the interface 11/12 and the Po2 would not cause the trunk to come back.
After 3hrs, I finally decided to simply reboot the switch. After about 3-4 minutes, the switch came back up and so did the trunk.
Is this a known issue on port-channel? Simply doing a shut, and then no shut, wont bring it back unless you reboot?
Any help or comments would be appreciated.

Hello Nelson,
I did not find a bug related to this, do you have any error in your logs from this event?

Difficult to say now it is fixed but it certainly is not normal behaviour from experience.
Did you do a "sh etherchannel summary" on the Cisco switch at any time while you were troubleshooting and if you did do you remember what it showed ?

i remember seeing that the LACP partner was not there. I forget the rest. What I could not figure out is why am I not seeing anything in LOGS that would tell me what is wrong?
The other thing I noticed yesterday while adding a new VLAN to the Po, is when I added the vlan to the 2 ports, the Po shut down. Then I had to run up to the switch, console in and add the vlan to the Po and it cvame back up. Understandable as the physical ports dont match the virtual, but what is the sequence on how to add a vlan to a Po so that it doesnt stop or shutdown the interfaces?

Add it to the port channel interface only and it should propogate to the member ports.
