I am curios to know if using the remark command has any advers
e performance effects. Particulary with a large ACL ( 2000 lines). Would
the ios also have to process 2000 remarks or does it not include that when loading into cpu/ram for processing (not real sure technically how the acl loading works)
Thanks again for all your help!

Tommy,
The ACL remarks are NOT pushed to the hardware/TCAM, hence there should NOT be any performance issue.
ACL Remarks stays in the running-config (which uses DRAM) and startup-config (which uses NVRAM), and reported when we do "sh access-list" or "show running-config" commands etc.
