hi guys

i am having issue with new IOS i am trying to upload.

I have two stack switch running with c3750-ipservicesk9-mz.122-37.SE and trying upload new IOS c3750-ipservicesk9-mz.122-55.SE5.bin.

both switch does not have enough Flash to store both IOS so i have delete 122.37 and upload 122.55 from tftp. after reloading both switch i am getting below error.

Error:  hardware not supprted by firmware
Try Loading newer software  instead.
System Resetting

Now both switch is rebotting after this message; i guess this new IOS is valid for this model.

anyone please let me know if they have come across with same problem and possible solution.

Try loading 12.2(55)SE7.

i cant as this is what customer has proposed to us to implement on their enviornment.

LOL.

Remind the client that they can't implement something that won't work.

they won't accept this; as another stack running same IOS....

Ok then.  Post the output to the following commands:

1.  sh version;

2.  sh switch detail;

3.  sh license; and

4.  sh inventory

current IOS won't boot up system i have to do Xmodem to install OLD IOS and then i can grab the info

Kindly give it a try and update us the result.We will help in case it doesnt help for you.

Regards

Inayath

so now i have upload old device to only one switch as it took long time with xmodem

4+ hours if you use default XModem speed (9600) or 45+ minutes if you change the baud settings.

Fairly new 3750G-12S (January 2011).  So you say you couldn't upgrade the IOS?

Maybe your IOS image is corrupted.  Can you post the process whereby you are upgrading it?

PID: WS-C3750G-12S-E   , VID: V14, SN: F***1504X19L

I have no idea whatsoever why people keep covering part of their serial numbers.  All I can say is the bits you've covered, two characters, ain't the important parts.  It's the LAST FOUR characters.

First three characters is the factory that made the appliance.  The last four bits is your ORIGINAL serial number.

thats good point about SN

anyways dont know how this switch has 122.37 at first stage...

my steps are:

Delete current IOS from both flash (to make more room)

Upload New IOS from tftp

Verify MD5 for both flash

change boot veriable

and Reload

Nope.

1.  Download the IOS file (TAR file) from Cisco;

2.  Check the MD5 hash;

3.  Use the command "archive download-sw /dest 1 /dest x tftp:///filename.tar";

     [OPTIONAL] Verify the MD5 of the BIN file; and

4.  Reload.

OK will try that but what's wrong with the option i am doing it?

You have MD5 verify AFTER you've downloaded.  If your MD5 hash don't match this means you've got to do the entire process all over again.

Plus, the "archive" command can delete your old IOS and change the boot  string for you.
