Hi,
I have been trying to use the IOS 'prbs' cable diagnostics on a Catalyst 2960S switch but I can't figure out the correct syntax. I have tried a number of things:
test cable-diagnostics prbs start ?
interface Specify an interface for test
This is indicating that the 'start' must be followed by 'interface' indicating the interface to be tested so I tried:
Switch#test cable-diagnostics prbs start int Gi0/1
^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.
I simply copied the 'int Gi0/1' syntax from the 'test cable-diagnostics tdr' command. But clearly it is not correct, so can anyone tell me what the correct syntax is to test the 'prbs' cable-diagnostics on port 1 ?
Thanks,
Usjes.

The PRBS test can only be executed for TenG interfaces:
For example,
SWITCH# test cable-diagnostics prbs start interface TenGigabitEthernet ?
<1-9> TenGigabitEthernet interface number

PRBS is for fibre optic. Not yet supported.
If you want copper, then try this.
