when I upgrade IOS on the 2500 to the ( c2500-g-l.122-29b ) image I lose my serial interfaces.
what am I doing wrong?

You may need a different feature set. What IOS were you running before?

I have multiple 2500 IOS and models, here is a list of some
c2500-i-l.112-18 cisco 2514
c2500-d-l.120-10 cisco 2514
igs-inr-l.111-6 cisco 2501

You need an 'IP' or higher feature set. Verify flash/RAM requirements.

I tried diferent ios images and still the same issue, I went back to the old ios
and it works fine.
not sure what image I need to use. my routers are mostly 8MB size flash
