Hi; I am doing an IOS upgrade for cisco 7609-s series, I uploaded the IOS in the disk0: and instructed the router to boot with this new IOS software.
The router did boot with the new IOS but upon running the #sh redundancy states command, I get the following results.Peer state disabled.

Myrouter#sh redundancy state
       my state = 13 -ACTIVE
     peer state = 1  -DISABLED
           Mode = Simplex
           Unit = Primary
        Unit ID = 5

Redundancy Mode (Operational) = sso
Redundancy Mode (Configured)  = sso
Redundancy State              = Non Redundant
     Maintenance Mode = Disabled
 Communications = Down      Reason: Simplex mode

   client count = 167
 client_notification_TMR = 30000 milliseconds
          keep_alive TMR = 9000 milliseconds
        keep_alive count = 0
    keep_alive threshold = 18
           RF debug mask = 0x0

I checked and found that one of the Supervisor engines had gone to RomMon state, Is there anyhow I can do the upgrade that both supervisor engines boot with the new IOS upon reload, please advice.

Thanks

Since the location of the active supervisor card's IOS is located in the "disk0:", then it's as simple as ejecting the CF (pray the supervisor card is not reloaded, crashes, or has a power outage) and take it to the other supervisor card that's currently in ROMmon and issue the statement "boot disk0:IOS.bin".

The reason is probably because you only copied the new IOS to the ACTIVE supervisor card's CF and did not copy the same file to the secondary card's CF.
