IOS Upgrade Path

Hey guys, I have a 6509E that we will be inserting a FWSMv3.1 into in the near future. It is currently running 12.2(18)SXD7b.bin. From what I understand the minimum requirement for FWSM is 12.2(18)SXF2. A few weeks ago we attempted 12.2(18)SXF10(now deferred) and it failed miserably with very unpredicatable results for connectivity.

Here is the current show modules of what I have installed with Slot 8 being allocated for the FWSM.

Forgot to add my question, is anyone running a similar hardware configuration with the FWSM and if so, what IOS revision are you using in production?

Switching is standard stuff with some LAG ports along with EIGRP as the primary routing protocol.
