Hi,

I have a Cisco 4503 with Software version 03.03.00.SG. I have a dhcp pool name with spaces, i'm unable to manage this pool, or delete it.

ip dhcp pool AAA Gxxx Wi-Fi

I get the following error when trying

Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

appreciate any help.

hi,
I entered 'no ip dhcp pool AAA Gxxxx Wi-Fi'

Hello @shelly mathew,

I don't fully understand,

But if you want to create that dhcp pool, the spaces will not be accepted!

Instead I usually use _

So you can create it using:

ip dhcp pool AAA_Gxxx_Wi-Fi

That gives me the error i mentioned in the post.

Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

@shelly mathew that error you have attached, it's when you configure new dhcp pool,

Anyway, try to type no then copy paste the exact written command, but by copying and pasting not by typing!

and share with us a screenshoot of the results!

Same error. I've attached the snip here.

@shelly mathew,

It's weird!

Try to reload the switch and check !

if not, maybe you can factory reset it and reconfigure it!

Hi,
Its our core switch, in production. I don't want to reload or reset it.

@shelly mathew

What terminal software are you using?

Is it a console cable connection or SSH or telnet?

Maybe you try to change the terminal software, maybe there is a hidden character between the words but we don't know it? also if you are connected through console try by telnet or vice versa!

Hi,
you cannot create or delete DHCP pools with space in name. i don't know how you entered this name. try copy existing DHCP pool name to notepad from cli and paste it back to CLI with 'no'.

1 - use - show run
2 - copy DHCP pool name (if in putty, select the name)
3 - type 'no ip dhcp pool' + paste copied name (if in putty, right click to paste)

regards,
Please rate this and mark as solution/answer, if this resolved your issue
Good luck

@Kasun Bandara Yes, I've tried that already. No luck.
@Andrew Khalil The switch is at a remote office, I've connected over telnet. I've tried with putty and tera term, same error.

At this stage can you post running config to have a look ?

what kind of tool you using to connect ?
