IP PIM SSM to PIM SM conversion

Hello,

I got the following issue.

The router is getting multicast feed. It gets it via IP PIM SSM config and the feed is sourced from the outside of the enterprise. Is it possible to convert this multicast feed into something that can use the internal RP? Some kind of multicast proxy on the router which can register to internal RP?

Where lies the problem here?

As far as I understood,

• Traffic you are receiving is using SSM (Source Specific Multicast)
• Your internal network runs Sparse-Mode only.
• You need a way to get from  SSM to Sparse-Mode

Right?

Right.

I suppose that the answer can be the "ip pim dense proxy-register..." on the external interface, but I'm not sure. Are there other options?
