ip policy route-map command on 3750

I am trying to set up a route-map on a 3750 I have as a collapsed core-distribution. The route-map can be configured but when I try to put the "ip policy route-map name" command on the vlan interface it does not apply the command. I am running the 12.2(40)SE6 IOS on the switch. Any thoughts?

2 things to check -

1) are you running IP services/Advanced service (eg. not IP Base). You need to be.

2) if you are running the right feature set have you enabled the SDM routing template.

Jon

I do have the ipservices version of the IOS running (advipservice not available for switches) and I did enable the SDM routing template. The switch accepts the command but on "show run" the command is not displayed as being implemented.

Have you tested it ie. does it actually policy route ?

Hi All,

I am facing the same problem when applying the ip policy-route-map ... at the vlan interface and when show run it doesn't appear. Have configured the "sdm prefer routing" as per advised but still no luck. Below is the software version and switch model for your advise.

Hi All,

Now I managed to apply the ip policy route-map at the vlan interface and it is showing and even when I input the show ip policy and it is showing the interface which is the vlan that associated with the said route-map. But it is still not working.... need help!

Silly question, but did you enable routing?

conf t

ip routing

end

May not be your issue, but this problem wreaks of easy solution, we often overlook the small things.  Happens to me sometimes.

Hope that helps.

I solve this problem with the command "sdm prefer routing". After I put this command and reload the switch. The command ip policy router-map accept the apply in the interface vlan configuration.

Thanks For Help.

Can you just confirm you are apply this to a L3 vlan interface eg.

int vlan 10

ip policy-route-map ....

Jon

I am applying it to the vlan interface but it isn't showing up in the running configs.

Hi, i'm with the same problem. When I applied the command in the switch its works without error, but I check the command in the int vlan and the command is not applied. I use the software version 12.2(35)SE5 - C3750-IPSERVICES-M (Stack Switch). Did you find a solution to this problem. I think that its a bug of the sofware.

Regards,

João Ferreira.

Hi Guys,

Please post the output of "show sdm prefer".  If it's "default desktop" , Please try the following command.

!

Switch(config)#sdm prefer routing

Switch#wr

Switch#reload
