IP ROUTE CACHE FLOW CAUSES HIGH CPU UTILSATION!!!

Hi

I want to configure ip route cache flow command under the router interface. Also want to implement this command as below

int fa0/0

ip route cache flow

In the global config:

ip flow-export destination 158.98.115.5 9996

ip flow-export source fa1/0

ip flow-export version 5

ip flow-cache timeout active 1

ip flow-cache timeout inactive 15

snmp-server ifindex persist

Just wanted to know will this effect my cpu utilisation to go high or will effect performance of router..

Plz let me know!!!

Hi,

New flow is memory intensive since each slow requires 64 bytes of storage.  So, it depends on the amount of memory you have installed.  If you need it, configure it and keep and eye on the router's memory and CPU.
