Hi all-
I'm doing the In-Service Software Upgrade procedure. I have a question that I can't seem to find in the documentation.
My current switches have a manually configured bootvar setting (boot system flash bootflash:XYZ). Meaning we chose to point to a particula IOS rather than having it boot the first image in flash.
This is not mentioned in the documentation (as far as I can see, but may be mistaken). Do I need to change the bootvar to point to the new IOS version that I'm upgrading to (cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.04.00.SG.151-2.SG.bin) prior to doing the ISSU steps?
I'm thinking yes. I was guessing that if I don't, it will try to boot what the bootvar says to do. Or does the ISSU procedure take this as a given and adjust the bootvar for you?
Thanks in advance,
Frank DeGregorio
Currently at version (cat4500e-universalk9.SPA.03.03.00.SG.151-1.SG.bin) on 4510s w/ dual sup 7s.

Update:
FYI, the answer to the question is that it does not have to be manually set prior to the ISSU command sequence. It sets it for you after it's done.
Thanks.

I answered this by trying the procedure without changing the bootvar prior to. I'm unsure how to change the status of this to "has been answered".
If anyone knows how, please let me know.
Thanks,

There's a button that says "Answered".
