Jumbo Frames on 6509

Hi,

I have surprised to see the default MTU size 9216 on cisco 6509 e Series switch, but when i check the interface it is showing 1500 Bytes MTU. Also i cant even see for which module or interface the MTU size 9216 is enabled.

I am trying yo speedup our server farm as i am facing very low speed issue.

please help.

you have to set the MTU per port:

int gi1/1

  mtu 9126

Hi,

What type of line card do you have?

The WS-X6548-GE-TX, WS-X6548V-GE-TX, WS-X6148-GE-TX, and WS-X6148V-GE-TX do not support jumbo frames.
