I'd like to know if someone has experienced this and if some solution was found.
Problem is that at some C65K I have directly connected Unix servers and the don't show MAC address at port, and same has happened at 3560 switched where I have too Unix based equipments connected. When use show mac-address interface XXXX, nothis appears at port and tested them with other equipments that worked fine.
Would apreciate if who found this problem helped me to understand and avoid, if possible in the future.
Rds,
Luiz

Hi,
are your UNIX servers able to communicate with the other devices in your LAN?
And at the time they send packets you stil see no MAC addresses on the ports?
Or is your problem just the fact UNIX servers are silent when not communicating (unlike Windows sending brodcasts all the time) and the MAC entries on the ports time-out after 5 minutes?
Just Ping to the server and when it replies, check the MAC address entries on the switch interface.
