Hi,
I am facing some problem with Cisco router 3825.
When transferring data from GigabitEthernet interface to ATM interface, it looks like there is big latency in the router.
Basically I am trying to transfer data from an FTP server connected to the GE interface of the router to a machine placed on the ATM side of the router.
This machine is connected (via E1's) to a VP/VC cross-connector and this is connected (via STM-1) to the router ATM interface (a VC sub-interface with UBR 256 is defined on the router ATM interface).
I have already done some test to verify that the latency is in the router and not in some other place.
Cisco 3725 and Cisco 3660 with the same configuration do not show the same problem.
Please could you help?
Thanks,
Nunzio

what is the bandwidth of your circuit and what is the utilization? you have to bear in mind that the 3825 can only handle half a DS3 for the WAN and that is not considering the services you are running on your router

If you can prove that using stable IOS e.g. 15.0(1)M5, problem happens on the 3825 but not on the 3725 or 3660, you must engage Cisco TAC, provide all the evidence, ask them to reproduce the issue, then they engage engineering for a possible resolution.
All in all, a process that can take some months, and of course requires a support contract.
