Hi every body!
i have few questions:
Let me quot frok my book;
" If layer 3 switching is used on the etherchannel, the src-dst-ip method will always be used even though it is no configurable"
1) Can other methods such as src-mac,dst-mac etc be not used for layer-3 ethercjannel?
2)If only src-dst -ip can be used for layer 3 etherchannel, is it on by default or it can not be configured as the book says?
---------------------------------------
3) channel-group 1 mode on/auto/desirable
If none specified what would be default i.e it would be auto or desirable?
thanks a lot!

Hi Sarah,
1) Can other methods such as src-mac,dst-mac etc be not used for layer-3 ethercjannel?
No, I know it supports the above for L2 etherchannel
2)If only src-dst -ip can be used for layer 3 etherchannel, is it on by default or it can not be configured as the book says?
On by default.
3) channel-group 1 mode on/auto/desirable
3550SW1(config-if)#channel-group 1 mode ?
active Enable LACP unconditionally
auto Enable PAgP only if a PAgP device is detected
desirable Enable PAgP unconditionally
on Enable Etherchannel only
passive Enable LACP only if a LACP device is detected
3550SW1(config-if)#channel-group 1 mode
% Incomplete command.
You must explicitly specify the mode.
