Hello,
Sorry, if answer for the following query is already provided in some other thread. I couldn't find the thread.
Is it possible to setup OSPF routing between VPC peer device through peer link?
I am planning to use a dedicated VLAN just to form OSPF adjacency between VPC peer devices which will traverse through peer link but not to any uplink or down link port. Is this possible?
We have following model of devices in our setup
Nexus 7706
Nexus 93180-YC-EX

Hi,
Yes, that is possible. There are 2 ways to do it.
1-A separate vlan with SVI over the vpc-peer link
2-A separate physical interface using a /30
Not all platforms support the first option. So, check to make sure that your platforms support it.

Thanks Reza
After further investigating, i also found the information in following config guide links for 7000 and 9000
<snip>
You can configure the inter-switch link for a backup routing path in the following ways:
Create a Layer 3 link between the two vPC peer devices.
Use the non-VPC VLAN trunk with a dedicated VLAN interface.
Use a vPC peer link with a dedicated VLAN interface.
</snip>

Hi,
Yes, those are the options. I usually prefer a separate physical link if the devices have one available.
