Hello,

what is connected to these interfaces ? If there is nothing connected, you could configure 'no logging event link-status' on these interfaces in order to get rid of the log entries...

Hi,

Users are connected to all interfaces.

If connected interfaces to users, this is normal - until you see anything major logs.

as suggested if you do no like to see these logs disable, suggest to monitor only impacted service ports for major servers or device connected.

Hello,

the log message is generated automatically whenever a port goes up or down. You said there is no network impact...what about the users connected to the ports, are they experiencing any problems ? What are the users doing when the ports go down ?

Hi,

we only see on interfaces where windows machines are connected. we do not see any logs for printers or access point.

users were complaining about the disconnection and we found that the DHCP lease time was 3 min instead 3 days. we changed to 3 days and now users have no issue but why we still see the message %LINK-3-UPDOWN:" on users ports.

thanks,
S

Hello,

at what intervals are you getting these messages ? The logs will show up every time a user starts or disconnects his or her Windows machine...

Hi,

Normally Down to up time is 10 sec and up to down is random second. see the logs;

Hi,

from down to up it is always 10 second and from up to down it is random seconds.

Thanks,

S

At this stage too immature to say what is wrong, If i were you, i pickup one of the port going up and down. Visit the user PC and monitor what is happening on the PC when the port go down in switch syslog.

another question you seeing this issue recently, how long it is happening, what is the change ? to understand better.
