Depends on HOW you uploaded the IOS.
If you just copied the BIN file then you're probably looking at an old HTML folder.
06-23-2012 12:57 AM
On attached file it is showing 2 cisco 2950 switches,
The same IOS uploaded to both switches via tftp server (boot system changed with new image)
when is type show version it is showing updated verson.
and both switch are opened in same explorer.

Srinivas. N.
Would you post the output of show version and of show flash from each of the two switches? This might give us more insight into the possible issue, and especially to the possibility that Leo raises that one switch may have been upgraded by doing copy the bin file to flash and the other switch may have been upgraded by using the tar file which creates a directory in flash that includes code for the GUI which provides the dashboard.

Flash sizes for the HTML sub-directory don't match. The dates don't match either.
Just which method was used to upgrade the IOS? The copy-the-BIN-file or the recommended "archive download-sw"?
Based on the serial number of the switch, I would hazard a guess that the HTML files are based on the EA2 IOS (or earlier).

Srinivas. N.
Thank you for posting the information that I requested. It does confirm that both switches are running the same version of code. And it does confirm that both image files are in the root directory of flash and not in a sub-directory and so both were updated the same way. So that theory of the problem does not explain the difference in behavior.
I do notice a difference between the switches. Here is one of the directory listings from switch 1
8 drwx 2688 Mar 01 1993 05:35:28 +05:30 html
and here is the corresponding directory listing from switch 2
8 drwx 5632 Mar 01 1993 00:59:58 +00:00 html
The difference in size suggests that the HTML files on switch 2 are different from the html files in switch 1 and perhaps this explains the difference in behavior.

I upgraded all my switches (3)x 2950 this morning with the same version and they worked perfectly with dashboard... So i would reccomend reinstalling the ios on switch 1 and see if it works. And also the html file size should be around the same size as the other switches.! Let me know how it goes! All the best!
Note: make sure you verify the ios so you know its operational without andy issues

Sorry, but I don't want to beat-a-dead-horse. This is taken from my few remaining 2950 family of switches with IOS EA14 running.
Observe the size of the HTML files. I upgraded the IOS using recommended "archive download-sw" automated command.

Hi Leolaohoo,
Thanks for repoly and my cisco 2950 switches having .bin fiel. But archive command todo with .tar,
won't it make it any problem....
fyi... last time by mistake for 2960 switch i upgraded the ios .tar file instead of .bin, then that switch had a problem.
again i upgraded the .bin through xmodem.
06-25-2012 03:35 PM
Ok, here's how you "fully" upgrade the IOS on a 2950 ...
Before we begin, I want to strongly emphasize that you must ensure that your 2950 doesn't loose power during the entire process ...
1. Delete the HTML files: delete /f /r flash:/html
2. Delete the IOS: delete /r /f flash:c2950-i6q4l2-mz.121-22.EA14.bin
3. Archive transfer the IOS to the switch: archive tar /x tftp://
NOTE: The command "archive download-sw" doesn't work for the 2950.
06-25-2012 11:56 AM
The dashboard is packed into the html files in the .tar file that has the ios, which is why you need to reimage it again to see if it had a conflict while transferring from the tftp server during the process.
